Halloween is right around the corner and Columbia & Richmond County (as well as nearby areas) have lots of great Halloween events lined up! Here’s a list of all the upcoming local Halloween events:

 

September 25 – October 31

Test your fear factor at five haunted houses in one location plus the area’s only 3-D Haunt. New this year is the zombie paintball hayride. $20 Entry. Concessions available. Open Thursday – Sunday.

It’s Spooky to Be Hungry!

Children and grownups collect funds and nonperishable food items for the Golden Harvest Food Bank in nearly 200 area neighborhoods and businesses. Drop-off sites are also located throughout the community during October.


October 23

Spirits of Hallowed Eve Dinner

A Colonial evening of spirits, songs, stories from afar and fire in the night. Begins in the tavern with wine, ale and heavy nibbles and then moves to the barn where the bill of fare includes aerie crock corn, rare beast of the night, twisted crow roasted, planked cold-blooded vertebrate, roots of the earth and gourds from the field. Limited Seating. $50


October 24

All Hallowed Eve Ghost Walk & Illusion Show

Walk among the ghosts of yesteryear in a Colonial setting and hear ghost tales and folklore during a guided walking tour. 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Tours and illusion shows are followed by entertainment in the tavern and a grand finale presentation by Faire Wynds at 8:30 PM. $7 per family/$1 per person for large groups. Reserverations Required. 


October 29

Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat

Costumed children trick-or-treat at dozens of booths set up by local businesses in the gym. Admission is free with a canned good to donate to local food banks. 5:30-8:30 PM.

Time To Scare Halloween Carnival

Children ages 12 and under can visit a haunted house, enter a costume contest, try carnival games and win candy. 5:30 – 8:00 PM. Free


 

October 30

Trick or Treat at Reed Creek

Tour the Haunted Boardwalk and enjoy games, treats and a costume contest. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 6:00-9:00 PM. $2/child; free for adults.

The city’s annual fall festival on Georgia Avenue includes live entertainment, midway rides, arts and crafts vendors, contests and children’s activities. Friday 6:00-10:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Free. Food vendors available.
